Solve Your Pyraminx.
Enter your Pyraminx colours across 4 faces (36 stickers total, 9 per face), calculate tip alignments, and follow 3D animated step-by-step algorithms.
Input 36 Facelet Colours
Rotate the 3D Pyraminx, choose your colour from the 4-color palette, and tap the triangular stickers to match your physical puzzle.

How to Solve the Pyraminx Triangle Puzzle
Invented by Uwe Mèffert, the Pyraminx is a regular tetrahedron puzzle with 4 faces, 4 corner tips, 4 center-axle pieces, and 6 edge pieces. Unlike square cubes where faces turn at 90° angles, Pyraminx layers rotate at 120° increments.
The Layer-by-Layer (LBL) Solving Method
- Stage 1 (Tips Orientation): Align the 4 trivial tips (u, l, r, b) to match their adjacent center pieces. Tips have no effect on other puzzle pieces.
- Stage 2 (Center Parity): Rotate the 4 center pieces until all three center stickers on a single face match one color.
- Stage 3 (First Layer Edges): Insert the 3 bottom edge pieces using intuitive sledgehammer algorithms (
R' L R L'). - Stage 4 (Last Layer Permutation): Cycle or flip the top 3 edges using standard Pyraminx algorithms to complete the puzzle.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is God's Number for the Pyraminx?
Excluding the 4 trivial tips, any scrambled Pyraminx can be solved in a maximum of 11 moves. Including tips, God's Number is 15 moves.
Are Pyraminx tips independent?
Yes, each tip can only rotate in place and cannot be moved to any other corner of the tetrahedron.
